F & G Pharmacy, an independent retail pharmacy that is locally owned and operated has been in operation in Glendive, Montana for over 100 years. Pat & Debbie Marrinan have owned and operated the pharmacy since 1988. We sell a full line of medical equipment, fill prescriptions and do consultation for pharmacy and medically related problems. EMPLOYMENT JOB DESCRIPTION-PHARMACY TECHNICIAN Definition: Pharmacy Technician is a licensed* person (registered with the state of licensure for the purpose of regulation) who assists the registered pharmacist(s) with the technical functions occurring within the boundaries of the pharmacy. *A qualified individual can be trained in-house in preparation for eventual licensure. Purpose: To perform technical/administrative functions that will free the registered pharmacist(s) to focus on patient care, prescription details, drug interactions and patient counseling. Functions: Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: answering the phone, assisting customers by taking their refills or new prescriptions to the pharmacist, assisting the pharmacist in filling prescriptions (per pharmacist's guidelines), gathering demographic data and some medical information (per the pharmacist's request), input information into the pharmacy computer system, handling returns of outdated drugs (per the pharmacist's guidelines), maintaining a clean work environment, receiving and processing drug orders, ordering drugs and supplies, stocking and restocking pharmacy supplies, processing patient insurance/tax reports, maintenance of drug bottles on shelves, reconciliation of third party prescription payments and any other duties at the pharmacist's discretion. Professionalism: Duties shall be performed in a professional manner at all times while maintaining patient confidentiality. Supervision: The managing pharmacist is the direct supervisor and is directly responsible for answering questions, addressing concerns or correcting problems associated with the Pharmacy Tech's duties and performance. Drug testing: MANDATORY Skills required: typing, computer literacy, basic math, calculator, efficiency and organizational skills, ability to deal effectively with customers, basic knowledge of insurance, business sense/knowledge.
